This week’s blog was written in Porto. There will be no combined lineup though because Hull City are playing Leicester and Ozan Tufan is likely to miss the game though injury, so it would be very imbalanced. Instead, let's look ahead at every potential incoming and outgoing.
Incomings
Jaden Philogene-Bidace
The exciting young winger’s £5m transfer to the Tigers from Aston Villa will finally be ratified and announced after complexities surrounding a buy-back clause have been ironed out. This will likely be the most exciting business completed on Humberside in what’s remaining of this window.
Mystery forward
After losing out on signing another Villa player, Keinan Davis, to Udinese, City may well still be on the lookout for a strong target man. This may only happen if a buyer can be found for another of City’s strikers who will be mentioned later.
Mystery winger/Jesurun Rak-Sayki
Rosenior has been on the lookout for wide players all summer and it seems like the pair of Lokilo and Philogene will not be enough. Rak-Sayki has been sought for a long time and though he has featured for Crystal Palace in both league and cup in August, a loan might be approved and City would be one of the first in line. This would be another coup following his exceptional 15 goal season for Charlton Athletic last term.
Midfielder/Tyler Morton
The Liverpool midfielder Morton is another target for the Tigers that might not be allowed to leave his parent club. He found form on loan at Blackburn Rovers last season but may be needed on Merseyside unless cover in the centre of the pitch can be found by the Premier League club. If this does hold him back, then another midfield option might be found on deadline day.
Outgoings
Harry Vaughan
If more forwards are brought in, then young City starlet Vaughan could be loaned out to find regular gametime. Though City fans may be upset an academy prospect has not been given an opportunity here, it is worth remembering he has only made 7 Championship appearances and may not be as reliable as any incomings.
Xavier Simons
Like Vaughan, Simons has not been a regular starter and could find crucial development time elsewhere. Personally, I find this an odd decision considering how few defensive-minded midfielders we have after Ryan Woods departed for Bristol Rovers.
Oscar Estupinan
The Colombian has been linked to La Liga sides Real Valladolid and Granada already and may decide to seek more starting opportunities abroad as Rosenior seems to favour Liam Delap and wishes to find a hold-up player like Davis. Despite poaching 14 goals for the Tigers since he signed on a free, hs all-round game has been limited at times.
Allahyar Sayyadmanesh
The Iranian forward has always shown promise in Hull with boundless energy and skill. However, injuries have hampered him for the last 20 months and this will likely get in the way of regular minutes again this season. To help fund the transfer of Philogene a buyer could be found.
Ryan Longman
Dazzling at times during his initial loan spell under Grant McCann, Longman has struggled to recreate that form since January 2022. Millwall, Oxford, Derby and Blackpool have all been linked since the young winger declined a move to Super Lig outfit Fatih Karagümrük and it seems increasingly likely a departure would be best for the club and the player.
